When we receive a notification of a dividend, it will be shown in your Portfolio tab under the Upcoming payments section. The dividend amount serves as an indication and the actual payment can slightly vary. After the payment, it will be removed from Upcoming payments and deposited into your Cash Account. You can find a record of this in your Account statement.
Dividend payments will be paid into your account in gross. If applicable, any withholding tax will appear as a separate entry on your Account statement. Funds are normally credited to your account on or shortly after the payment date.
In cases where the issuing company offers an optional dividend, it is possible to elect a stock or cash dividend, provided that the custodian facilitates this option, such as through a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP).
If you want to make use of this option, please send an e-mail from your registered email address to ca@degiro.com within three working days of the ex-dividend date. If the default option is to receive the dividend in cash, there will be an additional charge to receive the dividend in stock. Please see our Fee Schedule and Custody Fee Schedule for details.
